In the Extended Look

On screen An airboat runs through a wetland at about 17:07 to 17:13 in the Extended Look. Our read We have not found an alligator on our own frames of the presentation, so the hunting mention rests on Red Bull’s coverage for now.

Hunting

Confirmed Rockstar names hunting among the draws of Mount Kalaga National Park, and its Grassrivers stills show gator hunters with their catch.

Reported According to an r/GTA6 thread relaying TGG’s question to Rob Nelson of Rockstar, fishing is catch and release only, while hunting earns money through a character Jason knows.

Our read The trophies posed on the airboat and the gator strung up in the shed look like the alligator end of that trade.

The real animal

Our read Leonida’s gators are Rockstar’s take on the American alligator, just as the Grassrivers stand in for the Everglades.

Reported The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission calls the American alligator Florida’s state reptile and estimates the population at about 1.3 million, living in freshwater lakes, ponds, swamps and slow-moving rivers in all 67 of the state’s counties.
