Port Gellhorn

Overview

Confirmed Port Gellhorn was once a popular holiday spot. Rockstar says its cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls will not bring the tourists back, and that a new economy has moved in, fueled by malt liquor, painkillers and truck-stop energy drinks. Its advice to visitors: get on a dirt bike and keep a hand on your wallet.

In the trailers and the Extended Look

Reported The community map places a Trailer 2 shot in Port Gellhorn at about 2:29 (frame 4478 at 30 frames a second): Lucia in a convertible at dusk, industrial towers and smoke behind her.

On screen The Extended Look’s store robbery (17:51 to 17:54) starts at a strip mall where Video Forever rents, buys, sells and trades video games under Bank Owned, Store Closing and Closing Down signs, Zekes Gadgets offers repairs and massive reductions, and a pawn shop promises instant cash for gold, silver and diamonds.

Our read That is the empty-strip-mall economy Rockstar describes for Port Gellhorn, though the footage never names the town.

Our read

Our read Rockstar’s words and pictures agree: Port Gellhorn is the drug-economy town, with a grow room, pills passed through a car window and a cabaret hiring dancers. The dirt-bike advice and the monster truck in the Delights lot make it off-road country too.
