Overview

Confirmed The Ganado is Jason Duval’s own truck, which Rockstar describes as a well-worn, low-riding pickup. Confirmed The Ultimate Edition’s Ganado Retro Build mod kit adds muscle and classic styling, and Rockstar parks the truck at Jason’s safehouse alongside his Dinka Enduro and Crest Kayak.

Key facts

  • Confirmed Owner: Jason Duval.
  • Confirmed Stock condition: well-worn and low-riding.
  • Confirmed Mod kit: Ganado Retro Build, Ultimate Edition only.
  • On screen Retro Build details: yellow paint, red-orange stripes, a hood scoop marked 434ci, bull’s-head badges, four round headlights.
  • Confirmed Where it lives: Jason’s safehouse.

The Retro Build

On screen The Retro Build screenshot shows Jason at the wheel on a coast road, the sea behind him and smoke curling off a rear tire. The truck is yellow with a red-orange stripe over the hood and down the flanks, a raised scoop marked “434ci”, “Ganado” in script on the front fender, chrome slotted wheels and a mesh grille with a bull’s-head emblem between four round headlights.

Our read “434ci” reads as 434 cubic inches, the language of big American V8s, and “ganado” is Spanish for cattle, which explains the bull.

On screen In the safehouse screenshot, the same yellow truck is parked in front of a teal stilt house by the water, with the Enduro under the house and the orange kayak by the stairs.

What previews say about driving

Reported TGG, who watched developers play at Rockstar North, says cars need fuel and that there are electric vehicles that need to be charged, according to the r/GTA6 summary of his notes. Reported The same summary says driving feels weightier and less arcade-like than in GTA 5, with higher top speeds, and that shooting tires, engine blocks and gas tanks is now more effective. Reported TGG adds that focus, which slows time, also reveals weak points on vehicles, and that police are smarter and will shoot out your tires.

Reported El Rubius, who watched nearly three hours, says Jason can suddenly open the driver’s door to hit people or other vehicles, according to the r/GTA6 summary of his preview. Reported Engadget spotted a pedestrian left hanging off a bridge after reckless driving in the Extended Look, at about 8:58.

Fuel

Reported Kotaku’s roundup of the details in the leaked videos lists a gas meter. On screen Gas stations are part of Rockstar’s own footage too: Trailer 1 shows one in the rain at 0:50. Our read Nobody has said yet how fuel is bought or how fast a big-block truck burns through it.

Our read

Our read The Ganado is Jason’s everyday truck rather than a bonus, and its well-worn stock state fits a man running jobs for drug runners in the Keys. Our read Since the Retro Build is sold as a kit for a truck Jason already owns, the plain Ganado should be in every copy of the game.
