Interaction prompts

Overview

On screen GTA 6 shows context actions as short labels next to the controller button that triggers them. At the apartment door at 07:09 in the Extended Look two appear at once: HURRY on circle and LUCIA on L2.

On screen The same home sequence shows the other kind of prompt, a menu. Opening the fridge (07:14 to 07:24) lists named drinks to choose from, and Jason then has one in his hand.

What the Extended Look shows

• On screen The door (07:09): HURRY on circle, LUCIA on L2. Lucia is the label on L2, a person rather than an action.
• On screen The fridge (07:14 to 07:24): LOGGER BEER on the X button at the top, then LAVAZAS BEER, BLITZ BERRY SMOOTHIE and BLITZ GREEN SMOOTHIE. The smoothies carry a lightning bolt and an eye.
• On screen A club: a door with OVER 21 ONLY and NO WEAPONS posters, a bouncer who greets Jason, a stage, and a THROW prompt.
• On screen A struggle (25:36 to 25:43): pinned by an attacker, Lucia gets contextual button options, and she later uses a high heel as a weapon.

Targeting people

Our read Holding L2 on a person to open interactions is how Red Dead Redemption 2 worked, and a prompt that names Lucia on L2 fits that system. In a game where Jason and Lucia share a home, that makes the partner an interaction target like anyone else in the world.

Our read HURRY on circle reads as Jason telling Lucia to speed up while she gets ready, which matches the scene: he waits in the home while she dresses for cocktails with Brian.

What previews reported

Reported El Rubius, who watched nearly three hours of the game, says you can ask dog owners for permission to pet their dogs and that some owners, or the dogs, refuse. He also describes a man who stopped Jason and Lucia in the street and begged for a ride home, which started a mission with a reward and a cutscene.

Reported TGG says vending machines can be used and offer many options, protein shakes among them, that clothes can be changed in gym changing rooms, that memberships are bought at the gym’s front desk, and that you can text other NPCs.

Reported TechWiser, Beebom and RockstarINTEL, describing a leaked clip from inside the NINE1NINE club posted on August 25, list Sit, Dance and Greet prompts there.

Our read

Our read The prompts seen so far are small, but they add up to a Red Dead-style social layer: people you can target, requests that can be refused, and menus that name what you are choosing. The fridge alone shows drinks tied to stats before you pick one.
