Mini golf

Overview

On screen Mini golf appears in one of Cal Hampton’s official screenshots. Cal stands on an alligator-themed course with a putter over his shoulder while another player lines up a putt behind him. Our read Rockstar has not said that mini golf is playable. The screenshot shows the course, nothing more.

Key facts

• On screen Where seen: Cal Hampton’s official screenshot.
• On screen Theme: a giant alligator with open jaws above a rock waterfall, and a cartoon gator figure by the holes.
• Our read Playable: not confirmed.

The course

On screen The course is built around fake rock. A waterfall pours down beneath a giant alligator sculpture with its jaws open, rope fences line the paths, and a green cartoon gator with a yellow belly stands beside the holes. Palm trees and buildings with red roofs surround it. On screen Cal wears a bucket hat, sunglasses and a green shirt printed with orchids and alien heads, and sticks his tongue out at the camera. The other player, in a purple top, denim shorts and a cap, putts on a stone-edged green.

Cal and the aliens

Confirmed Rockstar’s tagline for Cal asks what would happen if everything on the internet were true, and his bio describes a homebody who feels safest at home, listening in on Coast Guard radio. Our read The alien-print shirt is a joke on his conspiracy streak, and a day out at a tourist course is a rare sight of him away from the house.

Gator country

Confirmed Rockstar calls the alligators the Grassrivers’ famous attraction, and the Ultimate Edition’s Goodtime Gear line is built around Macca the Gator, the star of a hit TV show. On screen The course’s cartoon gator is not Macca, though: it is green with a yellow belly, while Macca on the Goodtime Gear shirts is pink and wears sunglasses and a jacket. Our read A gator-themed course fits a state that puts the animal on everything from TV to T-shirts.

Our read

Our read The course belongs to the tourist side of Leonida that Rockstar keeps showing, from a busy lifeguard stand in Vice City to a boat party in the Keys. Until Rockstar says more, treat it as a place in a screenshot rather than a confirmed activity.
