Overview

Confirmed Rockstar Games revealed the Grand Theft Auto VI collector’s edition on Thursday, September 24: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a limited box of eleven collectibles themed on Macca the Gator, the hit TV show inside the game. It ships on November 19, the day GTA 6 launches, and it does not include the game. Rockstar’s announcement ends: “Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.”

Reported It costs $399.99 in the United States, £349.99 in the UK, €399.99 in Europe and CA$559.99 in Canada, according to Rockstar Intel and Dexerto, which took the prices from the Rockstar Store. Pre-orders are open in North America and Europe.

Key facts

  • Confirmed Name: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection.
  • Reported Price: $399.99, £349.99, €399.99 or CA$559.99, per Rockstar Intel and Dexerto.
  • Confirmed Ships: from November 19, 2026, launch day, each box with its own tracking number.
  • Confirmed Where: the Rockstar Store only, one per person, with a Rockstar Store log-in.
  • Confirmed Supply: a limited edition, sold while supplies last.
  • Confirmed The game: not included, it is sold separately.

What is in the box

Confirmed Rockstar lists eleven items, most of them branded Vice City, Leonida or drawn from Macca the Gator and what it calls his wetland friends:

  • Confirmed Macca the Gator figure: six inches tall, Macca holding a smoke and a flamingo blood martini, with a twist-open stash compartment in the base.
  • Confirmed Oakley Frogskins sunglasses: matte black, with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo.
  • Confirmed New Era 9FORTY snapback: an A-Frame cap with Vice City, Leonida embroidery and appliqués.
  • Confirmed Leonida Keys crossbody bag: ripstop, lined in black and pink, with woven patches and a debossed YKK zipper pull.
  • Confirmed Macca the Gator magnetic mirror: electroplated pink glass that works as a tray or hangs on two magnets.
  • Confirmed Chunkee the Manatee shot glass: with a Rockstar logo laser-etched underneath.
  • Confirmed Vice City swizzle spoon: an enamel Vice City logo on the handle and a Rockstar logo at the tip.
  • Confirmed Vice City razor blade keychain: shaped like a razor blade, embossed with the GTAVI and Vice City logos.
  • Confirmed Leonida Keys enamel pins: nine pins in a custom metal tin.
  • Confirmed Stickers: nine vinyl stickers in a stash bag.
  • Confirmed Double-sided souvenir poster: characters from the Macca the Gator show on the front, the full map of Leonida on the back.

Reported Kotaku points out that the pin tin is modeled on the cover of GTA Vice City, the 2002 game.

The map of Leonida

Confirmed The poster’s back carries a full view of the Leonida map, and Rockstar’s store copy invites buyers to plan a road trip to every corner of the Goodtime State with it.

On screen One store photo shows a second sheet behind the illustrated front: the blue map side, mostly hidden. In the version Rockstar first put up on September 24, two small islands at its edge carried labels we can read, Sandbars and Crude Islands, and two more labels are cut off.

Reported A few hours later that photo was replaced by one where the same islands have no names, as u/weeznax showed on r/GTA6 with before and after screenshots.

Our read Rockstar has never published a map of Leonida, so this is the first full official map it has promised. Why the labels went is not known: they may not be final, or Rockstar may not want the map read closely before launch. Until the whole map is out, the best picture of the state remains the community’s reconstruction, which our interactive map follows.

Reported Kotaku notes that GTA games have usually shipped a paper map in the box, and hopes this $400 set will not be the only way to get one for GTA 6.

Macca the Gator, from the Ultimate Edition to a real box

Confirmed Macca the Gator already has merchandise in the game. The Ultimate Edition includes Goodtime Gear, a capsule collection of clothes built around the character, and an official screenshot shows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in Macca shirts and caps.

Confirmed Today’s announcement names the show for the first time, calling Macca the Gator Leonida’s hit TV show, and the store copy settles what the Goodtime State is: Leonida.

Our read The box is the in-game merchandise made real, Leonida’s favorite cartoon sold to the people about to live there. It also means a character nobody has watched yet is now the face of GTA 6’s most expensive item. See our Macca the Gator file.

How it compares with Rockstar’s past editions

Reported IGN calls it by far the most expensive collector’s edition Rockstar has made. Red Dead Redemption 2’s collector’s box, also sold without the game, cost about $100, and RDR2’s two special editions, at $79.99 and $99.99, came with the game and a physical map.

Reported IGN puts part of the price down to the Oakley sunglasses, a brand whose pairs usually sell for $150 to $200. Kotaku and Dexerto point out that GTA 6 has no disc release, so there is no game case for a box like this to hold.

The jokes in the box

Reported Eurogamer notes that three of the items, the mirror, the razor blade keychain and the swizzle spoon, add up to an obvious drug-paraphernalia joke, presumably intentional for a series built on drug stories. Rockstar’s listing makes no such joke, beyond telling buyers the mirror is for reflecting on their life choices.

Reported GamesRadar+ traces the spoon to a gold promotional spoon Rockstar made for The Ballad of Gay Tony in 2008, which now sells for thousands of dollars.

How players reacted

Reported Reaction on social media was mostly negative, Kotaku and IGN report. Fans objected to paying $400 without the game, to the cartoon art and to the focus on a show no one has seen, and several said they would rather have had a statue of Jason and Lucia than an alligator. Others compared it unfavorably with RDR2’s $100 box.

Reported The box did not stay secret until the reveal. GTAForums users found the store listing first, including its name and a weight of about 10 kilograms, Dexerto and GamesRadar+ report, along with listings for shirts, hats and tote bags.

Confirmed Rockstar says more apparel and collectibles from its Grand Theft Auto VI Collection are coming to the Rockstar Store soon, and that pre-order details for Asia, Latin America and Australia will follow.

Context

Our read Two different products get called editions. The game’s own premium version is the Ultimate Edition, with in-game extras such as Goodtime Gear, compared in our editions guide. The Vice City Collection is merchandise only, and needs a copy of the game bought separately: our pre-order guide covers that. Both arrive on the November 19 release date.

Our read

Our read This is Rockstar’s first physical collector’s item for GTA 6, and it is aimed at collectors, not players: no game, no disc, and about four times the price of the RDR2 box. The item worth watching is the poster. Rockstar has still not published a map of Leonida, and a full one is now promised in print for November 19, so if Rockstar shows that side before launch, it becomes the reference map for the game.
