Tommy Vercetti

Tommy Vercetti, the lead of 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, is not confirmed in GTA 6. Rockstar only nods to him in its bonuses: a weapon pattern from his palm tree shirt and Vercetti Estate revolvers.

Overview

Our read Tommy Vercetti is not confirmed to appear in GTA 6. He is the lead of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002), the last main game set in Vice City before GTA 6.

Confirmed Rockstar invokes him twice in GTA 6’s bonus content, both times through objects rather than an appearance: a weapon pattern based on his shirt, and a pair of revolvers from his estate.

References in GTA 6

  • Confirmed Weapon pattern (Vintage Vice City Pack): under the heading Channel the Original Kingpin, the pack adds a tropical pattern for most guns, inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s famous palm tree button-up shirt.
  • Confirmed Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers (Ultimate Edition): his and hers versions of a powerful revolver with classic Vice City styling (palm tree grips, engraved detailing and a high-performance scope), which Rockstar says were sourced from the Vercetti Estate.
  • Confirmed Who gets the pattern: the Vintage Vice City Pack comes with every pre-order and every copy bought before November 20.

  • On screen The pattern covers a submachine gun and a pistol on the back seat of the ’55 Vapid Stanier, next to stacks of cash and a duffel bag.
  • On screen In another pack still, Jason holds a pattern-covered pistol beside Lucia and the Stanier at the docks at sunset.
  • On screen The revolvers are shown with a switchblade, a stack of cash and a box of Stronghold revolver ammunition. One is steel with a scope and an etched palm grip, the other dark with a gold palm tree inlaid on its grip.
  • Confirmed Rockstar’s description of a third pack still places Jason and Lucia, in their 1980s looks, outside the Ocean View Hotel.

Our read

Our read None of this says Tommy appears in GTA 6. The Vercetti Estate is the mansion Tommy took over in the 2002 game, and the palm shirt was his signature look. These are nods for returning players, in the same spirit as the pack’s pastel suit, sequin dress and curls.

Is Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6? Our read Not confirmed. Nothing Rockstar has released says he appears: he is only referenced, through a weapon pattern and a pair of revolvers.

What is the Vercetti Estate? Confirmed Rockstar names it as the source of the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers. Our read In the 2002 game it was the mansion Tommy took over.
