Allied Crystal sugar refinery

Overview

Confirmed The Allied Crystal sugar refinery is the industry behind Ambrosia, the town Rockstar places in the heart of Leonida. The official Ambrosia text puts it in one sentence: “The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs, while the local biker gang provides almost everything else.”

Confirmed So far the refinery exists in Rockstar’s words only. None of the official descriptions of the Ambrosia pictures names a building as Allied Crystal.

Key facts

• Confirmed Where: Ambrosia, introduced under the headline “Keeping Leonida Sweet” and the line “The battle for the health and wealth of Leonida begins here.”
• Confirmed Role: the town’s jobs. The biker gang “provides almost everything else”.
• Confirmed The town’s creed: “American industry and old school values still reign supreme”, in Rockstar’s words, “whatever the cost”.
• On screen Pictures: smokestacks on the night skyline and a burning field, neither labeled as the refinery.

What the Ambrosia stills show

Confirmed Rockstar describes its five Ambrosia pictures as the skyline at night “featuring smoke stacks in the distance”, a motorcycle gang in matching leather vests riding down a road, a woman hugging a man from behind while showing the handgun she holds, “A field of crops burning at sunset in Ambrosia”, and a man at the wheel while women in bikinis wash his car.

On screen In the night view, several tall stacks lit with red warning lights trail smoke over the town. In the sunset still, fires burn across a field under power pylons while two stacks smoke on the horizon beside a block-shaped plant, and a biplane crosses the sky above them.

The refinery and the gang

Confirmed Rockstar ties Ambrosia’s two powers together: the refinery for the jobs, the biker gang for almost everything else.

On screen The gang has no official name yet. Its members ride in matching leather vests, and one vest in the stills carries an “Enforcer” patch.

Reported The community map places Ambrosia on the shore of Lake Leonida.

Our read

Our read “Keeping Leonida Sweet” is a sugar pun that points straight at Florida’s sugar belt around Lake Okeechobee, where Clewiston calls itself America’s Sweetest Town. The name Allied Crystal reads like a blend of real sugar brands such as Florida Crystals, and the burning field fits the cane fires of that region.
